| Rite of the Pollip: My Hunt for Six Hearts in Silksong |

I still remember the first time a Pollip Heart revealed itself to me in Hollow Knight: Silksong. I was wandering through Shellwood, a region that feels like a cathedral built by roots that never learned to stop growing, when a drift of purple petals caught my eye. They floated from a wall like ash from a fire that burned cold and upside down. I broke the bulb, claimed the heart, and immediately understood that this was not just another collectible. It was the beginning of the Rite of the Pollip, a quest that would send me crawling, pogoing, and clinging across some of the most tangled corners of Shellwood. This first-person guide is updated for 2026, and it covers every Pollip Heart location, the quest trigger with Greyroot, and the venomous reward waiting at the end.
What Pollip Hearts Are
Pollip Hearts are special quest items in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are found only in the Shellwood area map. In their natural state, they appear as large purple plants that pop out of the item upon destruction. The telltale sign of their presence is a set of floating purple petals and smaller bulbs and flowers adorning the side of the wall they are growing on. If you see violet debris drifting in the air, stop and look around. A Pollip bulb is usually nearby, tucked into an alcove, ceiling, or vine-choked ledge.
Starting the Rite of the Pollip
To begin, travel to the area marked on the map, below the bench and to the left. Enter the home that is made of roots. Greyroot waits inside. She talks about a new birth about to happen and asks you to bring her six Pollip Hearts. This begins the quest, Rite of the Pollip. I recommend starting the quest before hunting the hearts, because Greyroot's request gives the whole journey a clear purpose.
The Six Pollip Hearts at a Glance
Heart
Where I found it
Key movement
#1
Just before Greyroot's home
Cling Grip upward, avoid wall spikes
#2
Tunnel connecting the bench area to the left-most Shellwood
Pogo on flowers, clear small enemies
#3
Left of Sister Splinter's boss arena, right alcove
Cling Grip, glide, pogo white flower vines
#4
After Cling Grip, top right new area, progress left
Cling to walls, stay high, avoid ceiling spikes
#5
Lowest path left beneath the bench
Traverse upper area, hop platform below bulb
#6
Through Bellhart, lower tunnels, secret path
Break secret tunnel, Cling Grip, hidden wall
Pollip Heart #1
The first Pollip Heart can be found just before Greyroot's home. Use your Cling Grip ability to parkour upward, avoiding any sharp spikes along the wall. Then break the Pollip Bulb to retrieve the first Pollip Heart. It is a gentle introduction, but do not rush the spikes.
Pollip Heart #2
This heart is in the tunnel connecting the bench area to the left-most area of Shellwood. Purple petals fall from the ceiling here. Move from right to left and pogo yourself using a down strike on the flowers to propel upward. Small enemies may wait at the top, so eliminate them before they knock you into a bad landing. The Pollip Heart is on the ceiling. Strike upward to break it, or toss a trap and activate it to destroy the bulb and collect the Pollip.
Pollip Heart #3
This heart is located to the left of Sister Splinter's boss arena and can be found in an alcove on the right. You need Cling Grip, glide, and parkour pogo on the white flower vines to get there. Purple insects fly around the area, so defeat them before working on the bulb to avoid unnecessary health loss. I learned that lesson after being bumped mid-pogo.
Pollip Heart #4
After you traverse the area after receiving your Cling Grip, head to the top right and upward into the new area, then progress left. Cling to the walls to climb left and keep to the upper levels, avoiding the spikes on the ceiling. You will find this Pollip bulb clinging to the upper right ceiling. Destroy it and collect the heart. There are no insects in this particular alcove, so take the time to heal up here if you have not yet.
Pollip Heart #5
For this heart, go to the lowest path to the left beneath the bench on the map. Then traverse through the upper area and hop onto the platform below the bulb to collect the heart. This is a more straightforward heart to collect, as the trail of purple flowers is easy to see on the opposite side and is enough to guide your path.
Pollip Heart #6
The final Pollip Heart is the most elusive of the six and takes some directional help. First, go through Bellhart to make the new path back into Shellwood. Climb through the lower tunnels accessible from the bell beasts' pathways by breaking a secret tunnel on the bottom right. Use your Cling Grip to move up the tunnels, breaking any obstructions in your way before moving downward past the Bell hermit. Continue downward only until you come to a bright tunnel on the right. This leads down a new path to Shellwood. Check that your map aligns with the route you are following, then parkour to the small cliff. You will see the familiar purple flowers poking out. Carefully maneuver downward and break the hidden wall to access the alcove and finally retrieve the final Pollip Heart.
Quest Reward: The Pollip Pouch
Return to Greyroot once you grab the last Pollip Heart and wait for her to finish crafting. You will then be awarded the Pollip Pouch. The description reads: A Pouch containing a fast-acting venom drawn from a flower's heart. Applies venom to equipped tools. When equipped, the pouch will coat your needle and any throwables in a purple hue, applying poison and dealing extra damage to enemies regardless of boss status. In my hands, the Pollip Pouch turned my needle into a wasp's stinger dipped in midnight. You have now completed the guide and obtained a powerful tool to add to your crests.

Final Thoughts
The Rite of the Pollip is less a checklist and more like untangling a knot of ivy in the dark. Each heart is a small violet reward, but the real prize is the Pollip Pouch and the poison it brings to every tool you equip. If you are playing in 2026 and exploring Shellwood for the first time, take my advice: watch for floating petals, bring patience for pogo sections, and never underestimate a quiet ceiling. Greyroot is waiting, and the six hearts are out there.
If the Rite of the Pollip has you hooked on Silksong and you're now eyeing other Metroidvanias or indies with the same bite, it helps to know where to buy cheap games before your wishlist gets out of hand. DealNest is a handy spot for tracking down discounted titles, so you can spend less on the backlog and more on the games you actually want to play next.
Whether you're hunting for the next Hollow Knight-style adventure or just filling gaps in your library between patches, it's worth checking where to buy cheap games at DealNest before paying full price. A few minutes of browsing can easily save you enough for another indie gem.

| How Assault Players Can Build Momentum in WARDOGS |

WARDOGS Assault players have plenty of opportunities to influence a match, but fast progression comes from making useful combat decisions rather than simply taking every possible fight. Players interested in Wardogs Boosting can benefit from building habits around positioning, target selection, movement, and objective pressure. A strong Assault player knows how to create an advantage before committing to an engagement and how to preserve that advantage afterward.
The Assault role works best when it combines pressure with adaptability. You may need to clear a position one moment, defend a captured area the next, and then move with your squad toward another objective. Learning how to change your role within the same match is one of the most effective ways to make combat progression more consistent.
Establish Your Combat Identity
A dependable Assault setup gives you something predictable to build around.
Instead of immediately changing your equipment whenever a new option becomes available, spend time understanding the weapons and attachments already available to you. Pay attention to recoil, reload speed, magazine capacity, handling, and the distances where your weapon feels most comfortable.
This familiarity matters because combat decisions become harder when you are still trying to understand your equipment. Once your primary weapon feels natural, you can concentrate more heavily on positioning and enemy movement.
New unlocks should expand your options rather than constantly reset your playstyle.
Enter Battles With a Purpose
An Assault player should rarely move toward enemies without knowing why.
Objectives provide natural reasons to advance, defend, rotate, or change direction. Before moving into a contested area, consider what your squad is trying to accomplish and whether your current position helps achieve it.
If an objective is under pressure, you may need to attack. If your teammates are already pushing successfully, supporting their advance may be more valuable than running ahead alone.
This approach also reduces unnecessary travel. Instead of searching randomly for combat, you can let the battlefield determine where your next engagement is likely to happen.
Create Advantages Before Shooting
Winning a firefight often begins before the first bullet is fired.
Look for terrain that protects your movement and positions that give you multiple options after an engagement. A strong approach might allow you to attack from the side, retreat behind cover, or move toward a nearby building if additional enemies arrive.
You should also watch how opponents are positioned. If several enemies are facing your teammates, that may create an opening for a different angle. If an enemy group appears well organized, attacking immediately may accomplish very little.
The best Assault players are aggressive when conditions are favorable, not aggressive simply because an enemy is visible.
Keep Your Movement Difficult to Predict
Predictable movement makes even a strong weapon less effective.
Avoid using the same route into an objective every time. If one entrance is heavily watched, look for another approach. If a previous attack failed, do not automatically repeat the same path without identifying what caused the failure.
Movement should also have a destination. Relocating a few meters can change your firing angle, reduce exposure, or force opponents to adjust their aim.
Small positional changes can have a significant impact when several players are fighting around the same area.
Match Your Weapon to the Situation
Assault progression becomes easier when you understand the practical range of your equipment.
Close-range encounters reward quick reactions and fast target acquisition, while medium-distance fights may place greater importance on recoil control and accurate bursts. If your weapon struggles at a particular distance, changing your position can often solve the problem more effectively than trying to force an unfavorable engagement.
Think about the environment before committing to a fight.
Tight interiors and narrow routes can favor different equipment choices than open terrain. Your loadout should support the situations you expect to encounter rather than attempting to perform equally well everywhere.
Treat Every Kill as a Transition Point
Winning one engagement does not mean the danger has ended.
After eliminating an opponent, immediately consider your ammunition, health, surroundings, and likely enemy response. A short pause behind cover can give you time to reload and prepare for the next contact.
This is especially important around objectives, where another opponent may arrive almost immediately.
Do not automatically continue moving because you have just won a fight. Sometimes the best follow-up is to reload. Sometimes it is to change position. Sometimes you should hold your current angle and wait for another enemy to expose themselves.
The decision after a successful engagement can be just as important as the engagement itself.
Support the Strongest Attack
Assault players do not always need to lead the push.
If a teammate has already established a useful firing position, you can strengthen that position by covering another approach. This creates more pressure than having several players occupy exactly the same location.
Communication can be simple. Identifying enemy positions, warning teammates about a flank, or indicating that you are moving toward another entrance can make coordinated attacks more effective.
Teamplay also provides a safety net. When your squad creates overlapping pressure, you are less likely to be isolated by an unexpected enemy push.
Prioritize Meaningful Unlocks
Progression becomes easier to manage when you know which rewards are relevant to your preferred Assault style.
Players considering buy Wardogs Boosting should have a clear idea of which weapons, attachments, or other milestones they actually want to reach. This prevents progression from becoming a vague race toward the next level.
For example, if you prefer medium-range combat, prioritize improvements that strengthen accuracy and consistency at those distances. If you enjoy aggressive close-range pushes, look for equipment that supports faster engagements.
A clear progression target also helps you evaluate whether a match was productive even when your elimination count was not especially high.
Know When a Target Is Not Worth Chasing
One of the easiest ways to waste a successful Assault run is to pursue an enemy too far.
A damaged opponent may retreat behind cover, but following them could expose you to their teammates or pull you away from an important objective. Ask whether finishing the elimination actually improves your current position.
Sometimes the better play is to let the opponent escape and use the time to capture ground, reload, or prepare for another attack.
Combat progression is not measured only by how many enemies you eliminate. Controlling space and maintaining your position can create much greater value over the course of a match.
Turn Survival Into Consistent Progress
A productive Assault match should have a repeatable rhythm. Identify where your squad needs pressure, approach from a useful position, choose favorable engagements, recover after contact, and then relocate when the situation changes.
This rhythm prevents the common cycle of rushing forward, dying, and immediately repeating the same attack.
Players looking at buy Wardogs Boosting should also keep this principle in mind. Consistent combat decisions are more valuable than a few spectacular moments followed by unnecessary deaths. When your positioning, weapon control, objective awareness, and movement begin working together, Assault progression becomes easier to sustain.
WARDOGS gives Assault players plenty of freedom to shape the battlefield, but that freedom works best when every aggressive action has a reason behind it. Build reliable combat habits first, then use your growing equipment and experience to take greater control of each engagement.

| GTA 5 U4GM Strategies For Winning Weekly Prize Rides |

The LS Car Meet Prize Ride gives racers another way to expand their vehicle collection without relying entirely on purchases. Each weekly challenge creates a different target, encouraging players to participate in races and improve their results. Having enough GTA 5 Money still matters for repairs, performance parts, and customization, but completing the challenge can make the reward feel more valuable because the vehicle is earned through gameplay.
The smartest way to approach a Prize Ride is to prepare around the requirement instead of jumping into random races. Identify what the challenge asks for, choose a comfortable vehicle, and organize your attempts around the available event period. A few small adjustments can make the difference between completing the objective smoothly and having to repeat it several times.
Understand What Counts
Weekly Prize Ride objectives can vary, so the first step should always be checking the current requirement. A challenge based on finishing position needs a different approach from one involving multiple race completions.
Read the conditions carefully before starting. Pay attention to whether the game requires a specific type of race, a certain finishing position, or progress across separate days.
Knowing the rules beforehand prevents unnecessary attempts.
Build Around Your Strengths
Your vehicle should complement the track and your driving habits. If you are comfortable with a particular car, its predictable handling can be more valuable than switching to a vehicle you have never used.
Consider acceleration and cornering as well as top speed. Many LS Car Meet circuits contain tight sections where maintaining control is more important than reaching maximum speed.
A familiar setup gives you a better chance of producing consistent results.
Avoid Risky Overtakes
Completing a Prize Ride challenge does not always require dominating every race. If the requirement is based on finishing position, a controlled approach can be more effective than constantly attempting dangerous overtakes.
Keep your racing line clean and take advantage of mistakes made by other players. Avoid unnecessary contact that could send your vehicle into a wall or cause you to lose several positions.
Consistency is particularly important when multiple successful results are required.
Schedule Your Attempts
Some challenges can require progress over several days. If that applies to the current Prize Ride, avoid leaving everything until the final day.
Starting early provides room for mistakes and gives you time to improve your strategy. If one attempt fails, you can return later without feeling pressured to complete everything immediately.
A simple calendar-based approach can make multi-day objectives much easier to manage.
Improve The Reward Afterward
Once the Prize Ride is yours, decide how you want to use it. Players who plan to race with the vehicle may benefit from performance upgrades, while collectors may prefer to focus on visual customization.
You do not need to spend your entire budget immediately. Test the vehicle first and identify which modifications actually improve your experience.
This is especially useful when you are saving for another major purchase.
Balance Racing With Other Activities
Prize Ride challenges do not need to consume your entire session. Complete enough races to make meaningful progress, then switch to another activity such as business management, missions, or other weekly content.
This keeps your routine varied and allows other income sources to continue developing while you work toward the vehicle reward.
Players who want extra funds for their next garage project may consider GTA 5 buy Money options, but maintaining a spending reserve is still important for upgrades and future opportunities.
Final Thoughts
The LS Car Meet Prize Ride system rewards preparation more than reckless racing. Check the exact requirement, select a vehicle you control confidently, prioritize clean finishes, and give yourself enough time to complete multi-day objectives. By combining Prize Ride progress with your normal GTA Online routine, you can add valuable vehicles to your collection while keeping your overall budget under control.

| MLB 26 U4GM Tips for Building Depth Across Multiple Modes |
|

xBuilding a competitive Diamond Dynasty roster requires more than finding the best nine starters. A well-planned bench gives you additional options when a matchup changes, a late-game situation develops, or a particular game mode requires different player types. MLB 26 Stubs can help fill important gaps, but smart bench construction starts with understanding what your lineup actually needs.
Instead of treating reserve players as secondary pieces, think of the bench as a collection of tools. The right combination of offensive specialists, defensive replacements, speed, and positional flexibility can give your team more ways to respond without forcing expensive changes to the starting lineup.
Identify The Jobs Your Bench Must Handle
Before selecting reserve players, determine which situations your current roster struggles with most. Some teams may need additional power, while others could benefit more from speed or defensive flexibility.
A useful bench can include a left-handed or right-handed hitting option, a power bat, a speedy runner, and a defensive specialist. The final spot can go to a versatile player who covers several positions.
This approach makes every roster slot purposeful and prevents you from collecting cards that rarely have an opportunity to contribute.
Prioritize Versatility
A player who can perform adequately at several positions can be more valuable than a specialist who only fills one role. Positional flexibility becomes particularly useful when injuries, substitutions, or mode restrictions affect your lineup.
Look for players capable of covering multiple infield or outfield positions while maintaining dependable offensive attributes. These cards can move around the roster depending on the situation and may remain useful across different Diamond Dynasty activities.
Versatility also reduces the number of separate cards you need to maintain for specialized lineups.
Create Late-Game Options
Your bench becomes especially important during the final innings. A close game can require a completely different strategy from the one used at first pitch.
A strong power hitter can provide a potential game-changing at-bat against a tired pitcher. A contact-oriented hitter may be preferable when you simply need to put the ball in play. A fast runner can create pressure after reaching base, while a defensive replacement can help protect a narrow lead.
Thinking about these scenarios before entering a game makes substitutions more deliberate.
Match Bench Players To Your Playstyle
There is no universal bench formula because different players approach Diamond Dynasty differently. If you rely heavily on power, adding more of the same may have limited value. A contact hitter with strong speed could provide a completely different offensive option.
Likewise, players who frequently compete in close games may benefit more from defensive flexibility than another home-run-focused card.
The goal should be to create contrast. Your bench should give you options that your starting lineup does not already provide.
Reuse Program Rewards
Not every program reward needs to become a starter to be useful. Cards earned through Pack Palooza, Summer content, Events, Conquest, and other activities can provide valuable bench depth even when their overall ratings are below your primary lineup.
Before selling an earned card, check its position eligibility, handedness, attributes, and series. A seemingly ordinary reward may become useful for a future Event or objective that places restrictions on available players.
Keeping a selection of these cards can also reduce future collection costs.
Spend Resources Where They Matter
When your bench has a specific weakness, focus your resources on solving that problem instead of automatically buying another expensive starter.
This keeps spending connected to actual gameplay needs.
Keep Future Restrictions In Mind
Diamond Dynasty content constantly changes, and today's reserve player can become tomorrow's useful option. New Events, Mini Seasons requirements, programs, and collections may favor particular series, positions, or player types.
For this reason, avoid judging every bench card only by its current usefulness. A card with unusual positional eligibility or a specific series designation may be worth keeping even if it does not fit your main lineup today.
Maintaining a flexible collection gives you more freedom when new content arrives.
Make Your Bench Part Of The Game Plan
A strong bench should influence how you approach games rather than simply sitting unused. Know which player you want available for a difficult matchup, which card can replace a defender, and which option can provide speed in a critical inning.
For example, if your lineup already has sufficient power, adding a versatile defender or reliable contact hitter may produce more practical value. Players considering buy MLB 26 Stubs should first establish exactly which bench role they want to fill and how frequently the new card is likely to be used.
If you buy MLB The Show 26 Stubs, consider allocating some of your resources toward these situational upgrades instead of concentrating your entire budget on starting players. A versatile bench can improve late-game decision-making, support restricted lineups, and give your Diamond Dynasty roster the flexibility needed to handle an evolving MLB 26 season.

| Little Nightmares 3 Co-Op Preview: Supermassive's Haunting Test of Patience |
|
Posted by: xtameembb - 10-05-2026, 02:37 AM - Forum: My Forum

Supermassive Games' takeover of the Little Nightmares series raised eyebrows among fans. The studio is known for cinematic horror and the Dark Pictures anthology, but gameplay depth has never been its strongest suit. Tarsier Studios left behind a sturdy framework, and during a PAX West preview event, the new team proved it can mimic that framework with eerie precision. Little Nightmares 3 nails the macabre atmosphere and experiential storytelling that define the series. It feels like Little Nightmares, not Supermassive's Little Nightmares. That is a compliment.
![[Image: 6ac2eaf858d0a1088421bf4feR15dDmM07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac2eaf858d0a1088421bf4feR15dDmM07)
The preview followed Low and Alone, two children trapped in a nightmare realm called The Nowhere. Like Hazelight's It Takes Two and Split Fiction, each protagonist has unique mechanics for combat and puzzle-solving. Low carries a bow and arrow. Alone wields a large wrench. The game keeps the series' 2D perspective, but now two characters share the screen.
Character
Tool
Role
Low
Bow and arrow
Ranged attacks, distant switches, boosting Alone
Alone
Large wrench
Smashing barriers, melee combat, receiving boosts
For the most part, the co-op experience flowed smoothly. Familiar puzzle and platforming mechanics returned. Both players push open doors or move heavy boxes. Low can boost Alone to high places or activate switches from afar. Alone can smash barriers and take out enemies. It is slower-paced than Split Fiction, but exploring creepy environments with a friend had its charms.
![[Image: 6ac2eafb980dffb072db017cP9IA8ZEM07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac2eafb980dffb072db017cP9IA8ZEM07)
Then the mechanics got in the way. Two particular moments turned a good time into a traumatic slog. The first pain point arrived during the first combat encounter. Low and Alone found themselves locked in a room under siege by zombies. Shooting off a zombie's head with the bow did not stop its body from chasing them. It took a dozen tries to learn that smashing the disembodied head was the only way to dispatch the enemy. Even after understanding the solution, another six attempts followed.
Combat exposed an unpleasant stiffness. Aiming the bow and wrench felt unintuitive. Both characters moved with a sluggishness incompatible with fast threats. The AI made things worse. Zombies used proximity-based targeting, quickly alternating between characters as they moved in and out of range. Getting close to an enemy, even from behind, triggered an instant death animation and sent players back to the last checkpoint. Other media in the room were stuck on the same fight, and they looked just as annoyed.
![[Image: 6ac2eafd5cba6a7d9d29836f8ECvSLKP07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac2eafd5cba6a7d9d29836f8ECvSLKP07)
The second test of patience involved a puppet chasing the duo around a kitchen. The puppet is fast. Low and Alone are slow. Timing and movement must be perfect to avoid capture, which triggers instant death. To survive, players must avoid the puppet's gaze, distract it with a loud machine, double back for a key, and escape the way they came. There are six or seven points where failure is possible. The preview session ran into every single one multiple times.
The margin for error is nonexistent. If a toe slips out from behind cover when the puppet might see it, doom follows. Even when it seems like the puppet cannot see the player, doom often follows anyway. The windows of opportunity for moving from cover to cover are narrow and poorly telegraphed. The sequence feels punishing and unfair because the puppet seems to move and react inconsistently from attempt to attempt.
![[Image: 6a96183b9e7430131854893c2iWgPTwU07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6a96183b9e7430131854893c2iWgPTwU07)
Solo, that stealth section would be irritating. In co-op, it becomes twice as annoying. One wrong move means starting over. When someone else repeatedly makes the wrong move, blood pressure rises. The section is slow, repetitive, and more a test of patience than timing. That is a hard thing to maintain in a co-op setting.
In 2026, co-op gaming remains all the rage, and Supermassive has plenty of experience creating shared experiences. Yet co-op does not feel like a natural fit for Little Nightmares. The series thrives on solitary dread, fragile pacing, and intimate scares. Splitting attention between two characters can dilute that dread. The preview suggested that Supermassive understands the look and feel of Little Nightmares. It has not yet proven that it understands how to make co-op feel fair, readable, and fun.
Three takeaways from the preview:
? Atmosphere and storytelling remain faithful to the series.
? Co-op puzzles and platforming work best when they are slow and cooperative.
⚔️ Combat and stealth sequences are punishing, stiff, and poorly telegraphed.
For players planning to try Little Nightmares 3 in co-op, the advice is simple: take it slow, communicate constantly, and make sure the relationship can handle repeated failure. If love for friends runs deep, playing alone might be safer. At least then, the only person to blame for screwing up over and over again is oneself. The nightmare is still compelling, but in co-op, it may be a nightmare for the wrong reasons.
If the preview leaves you unsure whether to dive in at launch or wait for a sale, that hesitation is understandable. A game that demands patience, precise timing, and a co-op partner who can keep their cool is easier to commit to when the price feels right, especially if you want to try it solo first and then rope a friend in later.
That's where a site like best game deals can help. DealNest keeps an eye on discounts across major storefronts, making it simpler to find a lower price on Little Nightmares 3 or stack up a few cooperative horror games for your next group session. Whether you're shopping for one nightmare or a whole backlog of them, it's a handy stop before you hit checkout.

As a longtime Hollow Knight fan who has spent a lot of 2026 replaying Hollow Knight: Silksong, I can say this: Team Cherry’s sequel is brilliant, but it is also brutally hard. Is it harder than the original? I think so, at least in its opening hours. The game’s wider exposure has brought in players who may not be deeply familiar with Metroidvanias or Soulslike punishment, and that can make Pharloom feel like a wall rather than a challenge. If you love the art, lore, and combat but wish Silksong had an easy mode, the mod scene is your best friend. I still recommend starting with vanilla, because the base game is masterful. But if you are thinking about dropping it, a few community mods can make the experience far more accessible without completely breaking it.

Most Silksong mods use BepInEx, and in 2026 the installation process is still pretty simple. Here is how I do it:
Download the BepInEx zipped file that matches your system.
Extract its files and add them to Silksong’s install folder. I placed BepInEx in the Content folder.
Start and exit the game. This creates the required BepInEx folders. You can also create the plugins folder manually inside BepInEx.
Download a mod and add its .dll file to the plugins folder.
Load the game, and the mod should work.
Some mods may have unique instructions, so I always read their descriptions first. That said, the BepInEx method covers most of what I have tried.
Stakes of Marika - Rebirth Anywhere
Creator: Kassant
Silksong uses the Soulslike formula of benches as respawn points. Benches are not extremely rare, but most maps have only about two, so a defeat can send you through multiple screens. Some benches also need Rosaries to unlock, and Rosaries are scarce in Act 1. The result is a frustrating death-runback-death loop. Stakes of Marika - Rebirth Anywhere changes that by respawning you from the current screen rather than a bench. You revive at the most recent entry point, almost where you died. Press F8 to return to the last bench, and you can even create a custom respawn point.

No Double Damage
Creator: Baiker
Silksong loves double damage. Many bosses and mobs have attacks that remove two of Hornet’s masks, and some environmental hazards do the same. Since you start with five masks and expanding that limit takes serious work, Hornet can feel fragile. No Double Damage makes attacks take only one mask. Does that make the game too easy? Not really. You still need to master mechanics and avoid combos, because multiple hits still add up. The mod just stops every mistake from being catastrophic.

Increase Player Damage
Creator: stebars
Even early mobs can take 4–6 hits, which makes Hornet feel weak and reflects Silksong’s origin as a Hollow Knight DLC. Increase Player Damage boosts your damage by two, so fodder enemies go down in 2–3 hits. Flying enemies that flee after every hit become much less annoying, and bosses also fall faster because the mod affects all opponents.
Double Rosaries
Creator: BlueRaja
Act 1 is stingy with Rosaries. Silk is plentiful—you will hit the 400 limit without much trouble—but Rosaries are rare. Bone Bottom’s Pebb sells a Simple Key for 500 Rosaries, Shakra sells maps, and the Forge Daughter in Deep Docks has useful Tools. Double Rosaries doubles enemy drops, and you can raise the multiplier to three, four, or more. For me, this mostly removes the need to grind in the first few hours.

AutoMap
Creator: WheresWolfgang
Shakra sells maps, but Silksong only updates them when you rest on a bench. Narratively that makes sense, but practically it makes exploration less smooth. AutoMap updates the map immediately as you explore. It is the least game-altering mod on this list, but it is a quality-of-life change that makes a real difference.

Shadow Dash
Creator: Null_993
Hornet becomes far more mobile after learning Swift Step, but Swift Step has no invincibility frames. That means you cannot dash through enemies or attacks without taking damage, and touching a downed boss hurts. Shadow Dash adds invincibility to Swift Step, basically giving Hornet a Dark Souls-style roll. This has a huge impact on gameplay and makes Silksong more forgiving when your timing is slightly off.

Do mods ruin Silksong? I do not think so, as long as you are honest about what you want. If you want the pure Team Cherry challenge, stay vanilla. If the difficulty is pushing you away, pick one or two mods—maybe No Double Damage and AutoMap—and see how you feel. In 2026, the mod scene is mature enough that there is no shame in using it. Silksong is still a masterpiece, and I would rather see more players finish it than bounce off its first few hours. ?️
There is one catch with all of this: mods are free, but Silksong itself is not, and picking it up at full price right when you are still unsure whether the difficulty is for you can feel like a gamble. The mods above work best as a safety net you already paid for, not as a reason to spend more than you wanted on the base game.
That is where something like DealNest is genuinely useful. It is a steam sale tracker that keeps an eye on price drops across the store, so when Silksong or another punishing metroidvania you have been circling finally gets discounted, you hear about it without refreshing store pages every week. Grab the game cheap, install a couple of the mods above, and the first few hours stop being a wall.

Level design is a cornerstone of the Metroidvania genre, and few games understand this as deeply as Hollow Knight: Silksong. In the 2017 original, players descended into the depths of Hallownest, gradually unraveling its mysteries. Silksong, however, flips the script. Instead of delving downward, players ascend the Kingdom of Pharloom, climbing toward the citadel at its peak. This structural inversion isn't just a narrative twist—it fundamentally reshapes exploration, pacing, and platforming, making Silksong feel distinct while honoring its predecessor's legacy.
![[Image: 6ac1997ca41a8c0bcc87ff9cizuEIyJM07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac1997ca41a8c0bcc87ff9cizuEIyJM07)
From the moment players take control of Hornet in the hub area of Bone Bottom, the goal is clear: reach the citadel at the top of Pharloom. Unlike Hollow Knight, where the objective was ambiguous and the world pulled players ever deeper, Silksong establishes a vertical trajectory from the outset. Each new region conquered represents a tangible step upward, fueling a constant sense of progression. This ascending structure doesn't rely on solving a central mystery with each layer; instead, it offers a straightforward, rewarding climb that keeps players motivated.
![[Image: 6ac19985714c2546799bc417MatY2ayB07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac19985714c2546799bc417MatY2ayB07)
The shift from descending to ascending has profound implications for level design. In Hollow Knight, the Knight's journey was largely about descent—both literal and metaphorical. Players dove into the Forgotten Crossroads, then further into the fungal wastes, the city of tears, and the deepnest. Each layer revealed more about Hallownest's tragic history. The level structure supported this gradual peeling back of the mystery, with branching paths that often led downward.
![[Image: 6ac1998812b6c41052d1a1a8WoGRrQuy07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac1998812b6c41052d1a1a8WoGRrQuy07)
Silksong's ascending design, by contrast, emphasizes verticality. Hornet is far more acrobatic and agile than the Knight, and the level design is built to showcase her skills. The long climb to the citadel is filled with opportunities for stylish leaps, flips, and aerial maneuvers. New abilities are introduced that synergize with this verticality: elegant air dashes to clear wide gaps, a billowing cloak that allows gliding and riding slipstreams high into the air, and eventually, the ability to use Hornet's needle as a grappling hook. These tools transform traversal into a dynamic, expressive experience.

While the Knight had movement abilities, Hollow Knight's level design rarely demanded prolonged climbing. Silksong, however, frequently presents lengthy platforming gauntlets where the explicit goal is to ascend to the level's exit. This seemingly simple change is one of the most impactful differences between the two games. It affects every moment of gameplay, from combat encounters to exploration, subtly and overtly encouraging players to think vertically.
![[Image: 6ac1998d595f6b6b29152952qxEw9XEC07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac1998d595f6b6b29152952qxEw9XEC07)
Hornet's new abilities include:
? Air Dash: Clear wide gaps with elegant speed.
? Billowing Cloak: Glide and ride slipstreams to reach high places.
? Needle Grapple: Use Hornet's needle as a grappling hook to swing across chasms.
The ascending structure also influences how secrets and optional paths are integrated. Just as in Hollow Knight, Silksong's first few hours are filled with optional pathways brimming with rewards and secrets. Players are encouraged to explore every nook and cranny, but now that exploration often involves climbing upward rather than delving downward. This creates a different rhythm—one that feels more like a pilgrimage than a descent into the unknown.
![[Image: 6ac199918a441d1a09c7579ajQyGYe8L07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac199918a441d1a09c7579ajQyGYe8L07)
The verticality extends to the biomes themselves. Each region of Pharloom is designed with verticality in mind, featuring towering structures, sheer cliffs, and multi-layered environments. Players will find themselves scaling walls, leaping between platforms, and using Hornet's abilities to navigate intricate vertical spaces. This stands in contrast to Hollow Knight's more horizontally expansive areas, which often sprawled outward rather than upward.
![[Image: 6ac199937a3655ab77817b98e5Aw7cAJ07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac199937a3655ab77817b98e5Aw7cAJ07)
In many ways, Silksong's level design is a natural evolution of the Metroidvania formula. By swapping descent for ascent, Team Cherry has created a game that feels both familiar and fresh. The constant upward momentum provides a clear sense of purpose, while the enhanced mobility and vertical level design make exploration a joy. It's a testament to how a single structural change can ripple through every aspect of a game, redefining its identity while staying true to its roots.
As players climb toward the citadel, they'll encounter challenging platforming sections, hidden secrets, and fierce bosses. The journey is filled with moments that celebrate Hornet's agility and the game's vertical design. Whether you're a veteran of Hallownest or a newcomer to Pharloom, Silksong's ascending level design offers a compelling reason to explore every inch of its towering world.
In the end, Hollow Knight: Silksong's level design doesn't just differentiate itself from its predecessor—it sets a new standard for vertical exploration in the Metroidvania genre. It's a bold choice that pays off, delivering an experience that feels both expansive and intimate, challenging and rewarding. As 2026 continues, Silksong stands as a shining example of how thoughtful level design can elevate a game to new heights.
For players who want to experience Silksong firsthand—or revisit the wider Metroidvania genre after seeing how far its level design has come—finding the right price can be its own kind of puzzle. A resource like DealNest offers a straightforward game price comparison so you can check current listings across retailers and storefronts without jumping between a dozen tabs.
Whether you're planning to pick up Hollow Knight: Silksong or add a few classic exploration titles to your library, DealNest can help you make a more informed decision before you check out.

| Silksong's Steam Review Crisis: Negative Feedback Doubles Original Hollow Knight |

When Hollow Knight: Silksong finally launched in September 2025, it was supposed to be a victory lap for Team Cherry. The sequel had been one of the most anticipated indie games in recent memory, and its arrival set Steam ablaze with record-breaking player numbers. Yet the glow around that launch was quickly shadowed by a fierce debate over difficulty, localization, and review scores. By the end of its first week, Silksong had already accumulated more than twice the number of negative Steam user reviews than the original Hollow Knight had received in eight and a half years.
![[Image: 6ac1997bec5f10c27df0ec4bV9khfuGY07]](https://seogc.fp.ps.netease.com/file/6ac1997bec5f10c27df0ec4bV9khfuGY07)
A Record-Breaking Launch With Sharp Edges ?
Team Cherry had spent years building anticipation for Silksong, and when the game arrived, players flooded the storefronts. The launch was spectacular enough to break almost every platform it touched, a sign of just how large the Hollow Knight audience had become. But technical strain was only one part of the story. There was the now-infamous bench, a moment that traumatized some players, and there were widespread complaints about the game's localization. Those issues, however, paled in comparison with the growing chorus of players unhappy with the game's difficulty.
The backlash did not take long to materialize. Within days, Steam user reviews turned negative at a pace rarely seen for a game with such high expectations. According to data from SteamDB, Hollow Knight: Silksong received 32,490 negative user reviews on Steam over its first six days. The original Hollow Knight, by contrast, has only received 13,690 negative reviews in eight and a half years. That means Silksong had well over double the negative reviews of its predecessor and was rapidly approaching triple the amount.
The Difficulty Debate: Punishing or Misunderstood? ⚔️
Is Silksong unfairly punishing, or are players simply resisting a different kind of challenge? That question has dominated online discussion since launch. One of the biggest sticking points is that more regular enemies can hit Hornet for two masks' worth of damage. For many players, that change makes even basic exploration feel tense and unforgiving. Long runbacks after being killed have also come under fire, as have tricky platforming sections that demand precision and patience.
The original Hollow Knight was never easy, but its difficulty curve allowed room for experimentation and recovery. Silksong, according to its critics, tightens the screws in ways that can feel exhausting rather than rewarding. Some players argue that the sequel mistakes punishment for depth. Others counter that Team Cherry has simply built a faster, more demanding game and that the frustration is part of the intended experience.

Negative Reviews by the Numbers ?
The review data paints a striking picture. On Steam, Silksong currently sits at 76 percent positive reviews when every language is included, giving it a 'Mostly Positive' rating. The original game, meanwhile, holds a 96 percent positive rating and an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' label. For a sequel that was expected to surpass its predecessor in nearly every way, that gap has become a central talking point.

The numbers do not tell the whole story, of course. A game can be review-bombed for reasons that have little to do with its quality, and Silksong's launch problems and localization issues clearly contributed to the negative wave. Even so, the sheer volume of complaints about difficulty is difficult to ignore.
Team Cherry Responds, But Will It Be Enough? ?️
Team Cherry has already acknowledged the difficulty concerns. The studio nerfed two of the game's earlier bosses, a move that signaled it was listening to feedback. Players, meanwhile, have created their own mods to help combat the issues, from adjusting damage values to easing certain platforming challenges. That kind of community response is common for demanding games, but it also raises a question: should players have to mod a game to make it feel fair?
The localization complaints add another layer. Chinese players were among the most vocal critics, and their dissatisfaction helped fuel the early negative review count. Team Cherry has not yet announced a sweeping overhaul of the game's balance or localization, leaving the community to wonder whether more changes are coming.
What Comes Next for Silksong? ?
In 2026, the conversation around Silksong is no longer just about its launch. It is about legacy. Will the game be remembered as a bold, uncompromising sequel that asked more of its players? Or will it be remembered as a cautionary tale about difficulty, expectations, and the power of user reviews? The answer may depend on how Team Cherry chooses to support the game from here.
For now, the contrast with the original Hollow Knight remains stark. The first game earned near-universal praise over years. The sequel has already sparked more negative reviews in less than a week than its predecessor did in nearly a decade. Whether that statistic reflects a genuine misstep or simply a louder, more impatient audience is a debate that will likely continue for years to come.
That debate over legacy is also a reminder of something players often overlook in the moment: how they spend on games matters just as much as how they critique them. Whether you are waiting for post-launch patches before jumping into Silksong or looking to revisit the original Hollow Knight on a fresh platform, timing a purchase around a discount can make the difference between a full-price gamble and a much easier decision. Following price trends instead of buying on day one is one of the simplest ways to stay patient while a developer works through balance and localization fixes.
For anyone who wants to keep track of discounts across Team Cherry's catalog and the broader indie scene, DealNest gathers the best game deals in one place, so you can compare prices without bouncing between storefronts. It is a practical companion for readers who want to experience games like Silksong on their own terms, at a price that feels fair, and at a moment when the version you download is the one the developers actually intended.
