My Q7's air suspension dropped overnight – looking for a proper diagnosis - nashwalwyn - 09-02-2026
Walked out to my garage this morning and found my 2016 Q7 sitting way lower than it should be on the front driver side, almost like the air suspension just gave up sometime during the night. I started it up and it did pump back up to normal height after a minute or so, which gives me a little hope that it's not a complete system failure, but this is definitely not something I can just ignore and hope goes away on its own. I've read enough horror stories online about Audi air suspension issues to know that this could be anything from a slow leak in the air spring to a faulty compressor or even just a sticky valve that needs cleaning, but I honestly have no idea how to tell the difference without getting it properly inspected. The car drives perfectly fine once it's up to height, no warning lights on the dash or anything, but I'm worried that if I keep driving it like this I could end up burning out the compressor because it's constantly having to work overtime to maintain pressure. I've been asking around in some local Facebook groups and a few people mentioned that dealing with air suspension requires specialized diagnostic tools and experience that your average tire shop or general mechanic just doesn't have. I came across a place called Al Zaabi Autocare while doing some research and it looks like they have the proper equipment to actually pinpoint the issue rather than just guessing and replacing parts until something works. Has anyone here had air suspension problems with their Audi and managed to get it sorted without spending a fortune at the dealership? I'm really hoping this is just a simple seal replacement or something minor, but I also want to be realistic about the fact that these systems are notoriously complex and expensive to fix when they go wrong. Any advice on what to look out for or what questions I should be asking when I take it in would be massively helpful right now because I'm honestly a bit stressed about this and don't want to make a bad situation worse by going to the wrong place.
