Many PoE 2 players lose this fight before the Arbiter of Divinity reaches half health, not because their damage is low, but because they treat the arena like a normal boss room. I learned that carrying Path of Exile 2 Currency for last-minute gear adjustments matters less here than entering with a movement plan, reliable recovery, and one answer to repeated interruption.
Prepare for the Arena Instead of Chasing a Faster Clear
The route through Origins of Divinity rewards focused Atlas choices. Taking the path toward Unexpected Missions through Jado can make the trip toward the Precursor Fortress feel more purposeful than spreading points across several unrelated map goals. Players farming broadly may prefer flexible Atlas value, but dedicated Arbiter attempts benefit from consistency.
An Ancient Rune with protection against small interruptions is easy to dismiss. It rarely looks exciting beside direct damage or resistance options, yet it protects long skill animations during shockwaves. Slam builds, channeling skills, and slow bow attacks get far more value from it than mobile spell setups.

That tradeoff becomes clear after several attempts. A slightly slower kill is usually preferable to losing a full attack cycle every time the boss controls the room.
Read the Cleave and Respect the Rotating Fire
The Divine Cleave has a clean warning: the raised gold blade and chime arrive before the vertical path erupts. Rolling backward looks safe, but the attack reaches farther than most players expect. Move diagonally through the boss's left side instead. You leave the tracking line and often gain a safe window behind him.
The rotating ray sequence asks for patience rather than panic. When the Arbiter moves to the center, follow the inner beam's clockwise motion and preserve your roll for a bad position. Crossing a beam may work with special defensive tools, but it is a poor default plan for most characters.
- Save your roll for the gap between beam rotations rather than spending it on minor ground effects.
- Stay close enough to circle the boss after Cleave, but do not stand directly behind him before the swing begins.
- Use recovery during movement phases instead of forcing damage into unsafe openings.
At half health, three Empowered Zealots arrive while the Arbiter hides inside a gold dome. Their modifier transfer makes staggered kills dangerous, especially for slow melee characters. Area damage that finishes them together is the safer answer. Fast single-target builds can still handle them, but they need disciplined target swapping and should not leave one empowered survivor unchecked.
After the kill, wait for the lingering holy ground to fade before touching the Ancient Mechanism on the northern dais. Rushing for the vault has ended more successful runs than the boss itself. Players gathering Path of Exile 2 Currency for sale should treat the mechanism as part of the encounter, then collect Precursor Vault rewards only after the floor is safe.
